چکیده

8 Abstract. Analysis of the pericarp structure in the four genera of the palm subtribe 9 Dypsidinae reveals tissues similar to those in other taxa within the pseudomonomer10 ous Indo-Pacific arecoid palms, but generally in unspecialized configurations consis11 tent with their presumed basal position within this group. Unique tissues within some 12 members of genus Dypsis include thin-walled, tannin-filled fibers around the vascular 13 bundles. Large-fruited members of the presumably related genera Lemurophoenix, 14 Masoala, and Marojejya show more distinctive arrangements of protective tissues and 15 are quite different from one another. Only Marojejya appears to be closely related to 16 Dypsis. Lemurophoenix and Masoala, by possession of both unsheathed vascular 17 bundles and bundles with heavy fibrous sheaths, show possible affinities with genera 18 well-removed from Dypsis.

Phylogenetic Analysis of Seven WRKY Genes across the Palm Subtribe Attaleinae (Arecaceae) Identifies Syagrus as Sister Group of the Coconut

BACKGROUND The Cocoseae is one of 13 tribes of Arecaceae subfam. Arecoideae, and contains a number of palms with significant economic importance, including the monotypic and pantropical Cocos nucifera L., the coconut, the origins of which have been one of the "abominable mysteries" of palm systematics for decades. Previous studies with predominantly plastid genes weakly supported American ances...

Study of Different Fertilization Methods on Oil Palm (Elaeis guineensis) Vegetative Factors

Oil palm propagation techniques are juvenile pot plants derived from germinated seeds and tissue culture, because it doesn’t produce sucker. In the nursery stage, monitoring the conditions of irrigation and nutrition are important to ensure phenotypic quality. During the nursery stage, optimal fertilization in development of more vigorous and productive plants. This research was carried out to ...

Effects of Superabsorbents on Growth and Physiological Responses of Date Palm Seedling under Water Deficit Conditions

Irrigation is an inevitable part of agriculture which determines crop yield and thus food security. In modern era of agriculture, crop yield is determined on the basis of crop production per unit of water-use instead of crop production per land unit area. Deficit irrigation is introduced as a strategy for controlling water resources that leads to water resource preservation. Date palm requires...
